How Does Invisalign Work?
Consultation and Planning
The first step involves consulting your dentist at Rockingham Dental who is trained to work with Invisalign. We take digital scans or impressions of your teeth, which are used to create a precise 3D model.
Custom Treatment Plan
Using the 3D model, the dentists use specialized software to plan the movement of your teeth from their current positions to the desired alignment.
Manufacturing the Aligners
Once the plan is finalised, it is sent to an Invisalign® lab where the custom aligners are made.
Wearing Your Aligners
Each set of aligners is worn for about one to two weeks before moving on to the next in the series.
Regular Check-ups
Throughout the treatment, you will have appointments with your Rockingham Dental dentist to monitor progress and make adjustments to the treatment plan if necessary.
Duration of Treatment
The total duration of treatment varies depending on the individual case, but generally, Invisalign treatment can last anywhere from 6 to 18 months.
Retention
After the teeth have been moved to their desired positions, wearing a retainer is essential to maintain the new alignment. Initially, the retainer might be needed full-time, and later only at night
